If you want to acheive similar results, but with the colour gradient changing *between* each line (rather than through each one) ..
Create red spline in Illy, duplicate, move and change colour to yellow. Manually warp second spline slightly. Make a copy of warped spline and lock. Blend between first two splines (using parallel points on each spline). Unlock warped spline, duplicate copy, move, colour change and add warp again - blend between new splines and line up to each other. Repeat above through colour spectrum.
Or.. if you've got a handle of a 3D package - use that.
This not making sense is a result of caffeine deficiency.
