yes. not necessarily that way but the cds only work on the machine they came with. two identical powerbooks it would work on but not an ibook and powerbook, or not two powerbooks like you have here.

my old g4 shit the bed and i just tried booting off my powerbook cd to correct the problem and it wouldn't let me do it.
