i've used it less often the last couple of years, mostly 'cause i've been doing more web development.
at the moment i'm developing an interactive dvd with 15000 images managed with a database in director
i started out doing digital/multimedia design with director 6 about 6 years ago. most people don't even know what it is... i love it.
