The views you originally expressed seem to be typical of a lot of people in the country. I figure this because no one seems to care that the government is saying it is ok, and no one bats an eye at it. It is amazing. I don't personally know anyone who has expressed these views before. Now, I don't know you personally, but I do have access to you through this site.
I know you are pretty light hearted and are generally pretty funny. I also had noticed that you seem to be compassionate with the people here who go through there ruff times. I'm sure you would even express some sympathy for mdobs if he posted something personally tragic here. That is why I just didn't understand your blatent disregard for human life on the issue.
I'm not going to analyze every point ... its not necessary. I do think that comparing a person who committed a crime in the US (rape, murder, etc.) is not the same as torturing and killing an insurgent. People get killed in US prisons, I would think mostly by other inmates, and I will agree some may be due to the guards who run it. The insurgents on the other hand are fighting a war. Yes, they do commit some terrible crimes like killing innocents, but so does the US government. These people are POWs and are to be treated as such by the laws our country decided to participate in. I think that should be respected.
Example ... Some country decides to invade the US and the war is going on in Chicago. What are you going to do Kona. You will do whatever it takes to remove the invaders from your land. I don't think I would play fair in a situation like this. I would want them to leave too, and would fight tooth and nail to make them leave. I think that is what the insurgents are doing. Comparing psuedo-soldiers and people who commit a crime for no reason other than they are fucked, are really not comparable.
As far as your site, my bad for jumping to conclusions. I guess I didn't understand doing a site for a political party one does not agree with.
Although you may be disappointed, I didn't lose any sleep over you. I ran across this article today, and I thought it was relevant to the discussion from the other day. That is why I brought it up and picked to discuss with you.
