offer to do a website for free for a local photographer (or even try colleges) in return for the photos you want (it sounds like they're not gonna be hard to set up). that way you:
a) get to do a fun site in your spare time
b) give a local photographer some exposure
c) get another url for your portfolio
d) get to pocket a couple of grand from your company for the photos
