    It's very simple, actually..

    1 - get releases signed for EVERYONE on film. If you don't have releases, blur their faces and hide their likenesses.

    2 - get location releases for any location you film at.

    3 - technically, you need a permit to shoot in any public space or the police can stop you and possibly take your film. subvertive shooting, aka guerrilla filmmaking works really well and often adds to dramatic effect IMO, but it can land you in hot water if you're not careful and/or lucky.

    There are plenty samples of individual releases, location releases, group releases, and additional legal forms on the Intraweb. Google it.
