i wasn't referring to the streets in relation to being harder than someone else. that's just a pissing contest.
graffiti is for the streets and for the rails - no matter what kind of neighborhood. making a judged contest out of it would be absurd - the 'contest' in graffiti is to get up, to have the best/most original style in every sense of your work - as you know growing up in LA around some of the best crews and work ever put in.
there is no winner as most of the time people don't know who you are aside from your work. for all i know, you may be a writer i've come to know and respect in the game. i'm just coming at the angle of you saying "graffiti contests."
events like scribble jam are great - big show with battles, writers putting up their work. you adding in raising money ups the ante.
if you're in culver city, did you go to the giant opening last night? how was that?
