the random jumping to the top left of the screen can be attributed to dirt or hair on your mouse pad and will do that with any optical mouse. the random actions and other quirks you reported could also be attributed to you unknowingly pressing the side buttons even just lightly. i've been testing one since they first came out and never had a problem with them but i do prefer the feel of the logitech mx 700.
