I was going to mention that they did the same for George Harrison when he past on.
I don't think many scousers complained.
It's just as sign of respect to someone they were associated with in the past.
Plus it reminded a wider audience of who she is and what she stood for. And how recent it all was. A few people here have already said they didn't realise she had died until they saw it on the site (I'm one of those people).
Apple has always had a socially idealistic brand, it's part of it's make up rightly or wrongly, isn't it better for a company to at least attempt to be socially concious rather than not give a fuck at all?
