(Oct 27 05, 13:32)Unfortunately, I don't think horrendous site design (that he didn't even do) and content that screams "Please do this to me", is as widespread outside of the design community.
Though the guestbook is something everyone can enjoy, much like a fat kid playing with a pretend light sabre.
