    I'm using an old mac (a g3) on dial up, and the site still was quick enough. I must commend you on giving that aspect some thought as the site is not too processor intensive or fat.

    I think your solution for the preloading of images is a good one, but it would be somewhat frustrating to see the intro everytime. Having said that, the site doesn't seem like the kind of site where people would need to go on a regular basis (like Google or something you'd visit daily). So it may not really matter that much.
    As far as the "next" button, I would get rid of it. It seems redundant, since the top menu takes you to the same place. I at first thought that the "next" meant more text within that same section, but it turned out to take me to the next section instead. That was odd.
