hmmm...Im trying to figure out the best way to answer your question without this becoming an issue.
I guess I have to say its sad that anyone would be offended by me asking this. For me myself working in the "design world", I dont meet very many african american designers, art directors or anything. And I guess I asked to see if others were out there to maybe ask them about their experience in the design world. Ask them how did they become designers, why did they become designers. etc. Understand this is a time in which most young black kids want to be in the entertainment industry or play pro sports. I think its super interesting to find out why others like myself choose this path, instead of what most seem to choose. And Im sure its a different thing to be a black graphic designer , there were only 3 other black people that worked in my office that had 150 people working there. I dont think my question is any different then lets say if someone asked "how many female designers are out there?" (of course this would have to be a female asking not some poor sap looking to hook up) I bet you would be able understand the reason for that question. I wish we lived in a world where race doesnt matter, but Im sorry it does. And why didnt I ask were there any milato or mixed race designers? because Im not mixed or milato. And I was simply hoping to meet some other african american designers that designed more than just a "Def Jam" album cover, that did more that just "black design" or "urban" design, but were just designers...so again I ask you why is this thread so odd? and what does "and gasp AD didn't use African American " mean AD?
