Ever wondered about dandelion clocks? Ever been concerned about mayflies?

    No?

'No', you answer, good answer I think, good answer because you are so frail yourselves my pupils, you are as good as dying the moment you pour dripping in blood and placenta from your mothers pathetic womb. Do not despair, it is your destiny as mere mortals, you are to be short-lived for you are weak. You have little capacity for true learning, you are mere experiments for the greater good, your seeming complex minds allowed free reign for purposes larger than your comprehension allows. Bless you poor children.

As for my age I hear you whine, my age is of no concern to you. My age is a question of string theory and strands of deoxyribonucleic acid. Carbon data has nothing upon me, my records are etched upon the cliffs and within weather patterns, it dot to dots the night quilt of your dreams, russles the leaves of teenage campsites and lies hidden deep next to the cash stashes of dying grandparents.

I look, breathe, and ponder upon you with pity. I sigh as I map out your lives, noting mentally the inconsequential nature of your existence, and yet you fight so dearly for such miniscule, meaningless, possesions. You argue and quarrell over patterns and shapes, you spit and shout about paper and unpossable possesions, you are the very vision of sin.

Look at yourselves and recognise some truth for noone can be your teacher once age is briught to question, notice he reversal of you wants, now you wish to be younger where previously youth was desired. Your reversal has been duly noted high above. You are now officially dying, death is upon you and catching fast. Enjoy life now for soon you are no more.

You are mayflies pupils, mayflies I say.

    Yes.
