They're wrong. We might be nearing the end of humanity, or at least as it is under the current guise - but to say that 'the end of the world is nigh' is the absolute of humanity's hubris.
I think we're at a cross-roads in our development - and the shit could well hit the fan, but there are the means for our species to have a long and glorious future and I prefer to dwell upon that. Though, we do have to change fundamentally.
