Actually, your shadow theory isn't that correct. It looks like the light is directly above, slightly to the left. It's not at a massive angle close to the paper.
I think the shadows are correct actually. Look more closely.
Better yet, just agree with me so I don't go to the trouble to put it into photoshop and prove my point.
