I was born and raised just outside of town. If your idea of fun includes eating pie at Marie Calenders, bowling, and making the scene at Starbucks then you are in luck, otherwise you are screwed.
Allthough- Mineral King and Kings Canyon National park is just East of there. That is definitly worth a drive, and a hike.
