I haven't heard word from my kin out there. I spoke to my mother on Saturday, she says she hasn't been able to phone anyone in Pakistan.
Thankfully most of our immediate family are in the UK, but some of my mum's cousins, aunts, uncles etc. are very close to the zone (Muzaffrabad, and some on the indian side of the Kashmir border).
More than that, i'm really concerned cos i was only in the area two months ago :(. They were the most wonderful hospitable people i'd ever met. it's so unfair - what did they ever do to anyone? people who have nothing anyway.
I know winter's coming in, and up in the mountain's it gets ridiculously cold, like -20c :(
I've started collecting money, raised £20 this morning!
is there a thread on NT on it? maybe you can post a link for donations.
