You're wrong though, because they committed to the show along with the other artists and in doing so already sold tickets to it. By pulling out of a committed event, you dick over the smaller guys in the show who would get some good exposure by you being there.
And if you must know, the Dave Grohl himself called up Rehage Entertainment (the promoters) and said exactly that - that because they're not getting paid, he would not play. Simple as that.
