Friday night after my friend's band played, we were outside getting some fresh air, and these two fellas came along soliciting their "rap, r&b demo."
You'd have thought they were trying to get us to donate to the Red Cross with the speech they gave. Layed it on THICK!
"We're just trying to get ourselves out there, get our music out there that we feel is unique..."
That wasn't all that funny, I mean, plenty of people intend that.
The funny part was when he asked if we'd like to buy a CD for $2. My friend, half drunk and always generous said sure, and what kind of packaging does the guy present?
A stapled, folded page of notebook paper containing a CDR.
My friend said "Notebook paper? That's some great packaging."
The guy said "Hey, we're starting at the bottom and going up."
It's a sad day when such a cheap gizmo like the jewel case can't even be purchased to try and give a person a shred of credibility.
Notebook paper!
