    I didn't bother reading all 200+ posts, but here is some real advice:

    If its for "protecting your home," get a shotgun. Shot won't go through walls and kill a baby, and a big shotgun is intimidating, and you don't have to aim as well.

    If its for concealment on the street, get a revolver so if you murder someone there are no shells left at the scene.

    If its for fighting the 4th Reich New World Order, get a .50 caliber rifle while they last. You can purchase, as a civilian, armor piercing bullets that could bring down a plane and shoot through a tank.
