aw shucks, you know what cruz_azul? I don't live where you do, I didn't grow up the same way you did, I don't live your life or deal with the people you have to deal with each day.
I took up martial arts because I experienced a few episodes which led to me living a life of fear. I'm not saying this is an answer for you, but I will say this:
If you choose to arm yourself, you be the best marksman you can be because it's the difference between your target's life and death. You want to have a gun? Fine, but you better service it and clean it and treat it with respect.
My last point is the most important one.
If you wish to have the ability to injure, kill or maim, you better be prepared to be shot, killed, maimed or paralysed yourself.
That's all I have to say.
