would you seriously not 'call' yourself an artist, brooke ?
You said earlier that you dont try to put any emotion into your work, and I suppose, yes - thats the definition of art, something that conveys an emotion, whereas an illustration in that sense is something that conveys an idea alone..
Anyhoo, what Im saying is that many of us cannot tell that your work is illustrative, and not actual art because it does seem to convey emotion - would you be open to the idea that thru your work, some emotion does creep in ?
Theres technical proficiency, which you obvious have in bundles, but also a certain x-factor that it all has.
Im calling it...you are an artist.
And I'll raise you a gradient mesh on the river..
