if you don't like rants, don't read this: i wonder if they actually came to vancouver or if they watched some promo video on our city. i guess they ignored a few things: our downtown eastside is the poorest neighborhood in canada, meth use is on the rise, meth production is on the rise, our province and subsequently our city is wasting a whole bunch of money on the olympics rather than improving living conditions for the poor or improving other parts of the city's infrastructure, housing prices are getting so high it's difficult to own a home here, the job market is full of minumum wage McJobs and not professional jobs, school class sizes are too high (for the whole province)... i could go on. but don't get me wrong, i love my city but best in the world?
