All I was saying is that because you and I are not scientists, it's appropriate to acknowledge the expertise and background of people who HAVE spent a lot of time on these issues.

No matter how you spin it, the Discovery Institute IS a politically and ideologically motivated organization. Fact: It was founded by a Reagan administration official, Bruce Chapman. Fact: One of it's largest donors is a multimillionaire affiliated with groups that want to turn America into a theocracy. If you want to base your arguments on people who carry that kind of baggage with them, we'll have to take them for what they are.

And ID is not new. It's been around for eons, and it's called "creationism." ID is simply a talking point invented by people who realized the American legal system would never accept creationism as an alternative to evolution.

    Quote from Dembski:

"The job of apologetics is to clear the ground, to clear obstacles that prevent people from coming to the knowledge of Christ," Dembski said. "And if there's anything that I think has blocked the growth of Christ [and] the free reign of the Spirit and people accepting the Scripture and Jesus Christ, it is the Darwinian naturalistic view.... It's important that we understand the world. God has created it; Jesus is incarnate in the world."

    Hmmm...
