aim for clients who care about their brand enough to work with a designer who understands design and usability and how that ties in with their brand identity and effectiveness.
...and make sure you understand this enough yourself to educate your clients. You sell your services better by educating a client on how working with you will better their business rather than saying 'I have to make a living too.'
