i want to know too , i saw that ad and its awsome . it really cant be done by hand , it would take for ever and it wouldnt be that nice. defenitively some 3d or some photo to vector rendering thing.
Also , another option , would be that everything is done in 3d , and then , they use different render shaders . kinda like the cartoon render in Plasma , or u have similars in 3dmax ...
