The US had the orignal English version. People watched tha, then the US version was made.
I've seen it here on BBC3 and it's pretty piss poor. There's just not the same kind of tradition of cringey humour in the US as there is here.
Having said that the guys who plays the boss is funny in other roles like in Anchorman and 40 year-old virgin etc. I guess the writing's just not as good
