Im not sure what you do for social insurance, I think you have to report it tho and they will know what to do.
On a similar note:
I lost my wallet a few months ago, I was pretty pissed, well actually left it ontop of a pay phone for about a minute and came back and it was gong.
Just when I thought there were no honest and decent people left I found my wallet at my universities lost and found with all my cards and money inside.
Definitely check to see if any local places have it that you were near, worth a try.
