probably oil sludge. make sure to use synthetic oil. once you change over to synthetic you can go back to regular. also change the timing belt around every 60-75k miles not every 100k miles like the manual says. it is a costly maintenance service but it's definitely neccessary. you can also do it yourself, i've seen timing belt replacement kits with everything you need.
