Like dopepope pointed out, we see this stuff everyday. Almost everyone non-designer know has never heard of threadless and says they like those kind of t-shirts when they see them.
We wonder why design trends get played out for so long, it's because by the time they are used by mainstream websites, clothing companies, etc... we've already been staring at it for 2 years on our portfolios, zines and indie clothing, etc...
Just let it run it's course, everything does eventually.
