first if you are going to approach your boss for a raise, do it because you deserve it, what your friend makes is no-ones business, second dont compare yourself with other employees, this makes you look really bad and petty. a superior would find this jealousness a bad trait and your trust level would really drop because it would look like you only care about yourself and not the company. third do not demand time or money, just try and ask for a review, and forget your friend. you are accountable for your work and no one else.
stand up for yourself but dont use others to try to gain, because it will backfire in your face and you could be fired.
also what ever you, do not complain!
other than that if you dont like it, wait a few months and either ask for a review or get a new job.
