sucks, man, but it's something that you have to deal with. specially if it's your friend.
you can't have the "why-him-and-not-me" approach. i don't think it would work...
i'm sorry for this.... i know first hand that it SUCKS LOADS... you can always get your friend to pay beers after job, though.
