look at it from the employer's standpoint, though:
giving someone a short little test is a hell of a lot easier than going through all the paperwork and hassle of hiring someone and then having to fire them again once you find out that they are some slow ass motherfuckers and that each piece in their portfolio probably took them months to finish
if you can't be bothered to perform one simple task to get the job, the job isn't worth having, right?
