west elm has less than 10 pieces of furniture that are real wood.

(Aug 26 05, 09:59)Most stuff is. Even the furniture at DWR is simply veneered. Unless you're prepared to pay 4 or 5 digits, then that's about all they can do.
Regardless, particle board and plywood are fine to build with, so it shouldn't have an impact on solidity - unless it's framed wrong.
