1.) Drive over the Golden gate and take the first exit to the Marin headlands. Cool artist cabins for weekend retreats, great views of the bridge, several beaches, a few WWII bunkers, there's even a former missile base there you can wander through.
2.) Dinner at any of the sidewalk Italian restaurants on Columbus Ave in North Beach.
3.) Bottom of the Hill: best venue for indie rock shows
4.) Yuppie cocktails: Tosca's, beatnik drinks at Vesuvio's, if you want to meet Candy and the karoake possee look up the Bao Bao in Chinatwon.btw, Rand, I should be living in the city by then. Please let me know when you're coming. I'd love to buy you a drink.
