I know of Canadian artist grants, but not sure about US grants. Are there Art councils in the US? you can do a search in Google for "artist grants" You will have to go through junk and shit, but that is a good start.
If you state more clearly what type of grant you are looking for perhaps I will be able to help you. I work with an art centre, and we have lots of resources with good info.
