you could try some of the data recovery companies as mentioned, however they are uber expensive. I had a hard drive die, lost loads of degree coursework. Despite pointing out to some of the companies that they wanted to charge me (a poor student) more than i earnt in a year to fix the drive, they weren't going to budge on price.
