No... my thought was to just give them the username and password. When their project is over, I simply clean it up, and change the password. The files there belong to their project anyway.... and no one knows it's there but us... after the project, they can't get in without the new password.
Not a 'perfect' idea... but a cheap one! I'm still testing it's usability anyway... jury is still out on it until file upload size improves.
