  I'm not sure about writing, but palying back you get like 5 switches then it locks it down to wahtever reagion you last set it to... but you only get the option when you insert a DVD in daifferent region than you last set it to.

  I would guess that you might need something like DVD Studio Pro to burn in multi regions.
