    Sure we can, first and foremost, the name America or American can pertain to both North and South America. It's improperly named in the first place after Amerigo Vespucci.

    i always wondered when I hear "God bless America" if they really mean it..

    America the continent I mean, and what about the rest of the continents?

    Or are they just saying America as in united states of america ?
