years ago was totally broke after an agency i worked at went tits up..
landed a job through a friend at a printhouse..
it was awful..
i'd worked at one before briefly, and had a pretty good idea how to do stuff, but the guy at this place that was supposed to train me didn't like me too much..
he made me look a bit of a fool in front of the owners on more than one occasion..
it was brutal...
after about 3 months of shit like that, i was totally miserable,
then one day, i got to work, and had a premonition....this was going to be my last day...i just felt it..
and right enough, at the end of theday, they fired my ass
told me i 'wasn't up to technical standards'took my last paycheque and got the fuck out of their, a bit upset, but mostly relieved..
went downtown, hooked up with some designer buddies, drank a lot of beer and basically said 'look...i need a new gig as of RIGHT NOW....i just got fired,,
one of my buddies hooked me up with a new software company a day later...getting fired that day was one of the best things that ever happened to me..
