Speaking from experience, if you find yourself in hot water at work - either for performance or attitude or whatever - use it as an excuse to evaluate yourself, and your job.
If you find that the problem is you - fix it.
If the problem is the job - fucking quit. No amount of money is worth being miserable over. That's a lesson I have recently learned.
