I think it is.
first of all, If you want to use Avid, then I don't think Avid is certifing their Hi end package for G5 yet, only G4 so technically you will be on a faster system avid is authorising. (unless this has changes in the past 3 months)You won't have the highest machine available on the planet, but I think it's more than enough. If you where doing the really high end stuff already, I'm sure you can afford a a dual G5 with broadcast monitors.
