But please understand that he knew the risks, and the potential of losing his life. If society can't understand and respect that aspect of being a soldier, especially in the case of a volunteer military, then that is a problem.

---------------------------I agree mg. And the society understands that as well, but the BS lies in why we are there in the first place. This was a sham from day one.
I feel for these soldiers and marines. Alot of them are reupping not because of any grand scheme of patriotism but bc their buds are there under fire. That's where their loyalty is, to their fellow bud.
The Marine/soldiers job is to accept the risks that come with combat. The citizen and politicians job is to ask them to take those risk for the best and noblest reasons possible.
