the only thing greek paganists held in high regard was Logos (not to be confused with today's meaning of the word "logo"... the irony eh? and here we are on NT) which was not like God to christians but a principle force used by god...
St. Basil (catholic) only used Greek Philosophy as a bee used honey for tangible truths of this material world.
