I'll spare you the obvious Top Ten choices like Grand theft Auto:Vice city (an awesome game...but sounds like your not into killing hookers)
there's an older game called ICO which was very fun and relaxing being that you really couldn't die to easilly. Its full of wonderful ambient landscapes and sounds and it's a very challenging puzzle game.
but it all depends on what they like to play...ppl can be very picky.
