not only is the 17" too big, but it will eat up your battery like it was going out of style. stick with the 15" and load it up with 1GB+ of RAM. That will allow you to happily run all of those programs at the same time. 175MHtz will maybe add like...2 seconds max of wait time for a complex filter in Photoshop. Definately not worth $300 considering that you can probably get a 64-bit 2.5GHtz Athlon for that much.
