  never got an answer why god put the fossils in the rocks. was it random intelligent design or a easter egg type of ish?

  caused by the randomization of whatever entiity/force/etc. put the Earth in motion. It's Dynamic Equilibrium. THose organisms either died a natural death or some catostrophic event occured to put them there.
