the main reason that the whole story of the swiss nazi gold was dropped by the media was the revelation that both uk and us held vast amounts of it too....many multiples of what was deposited in Switzerland for safe keeping.....and seeing as it was pressure from the us that initiated the settlement of these funds it proved a certain amount of embarassing hypocrisy.....
