too bad y'all can't read Dutch tho. The latest Items ( http://www.bispublishers.nl/Item… ) features a harsh but straightforward observation of Dutch design by a German sociologist. I can only say that, well.. i don't think a lot of people would like the article, but there's some truths in it.
in short:
Dutch design is being overpromoted and is not as socially and politically engaged as most people think, it's lots of aestethics without much substance, it's also been described as being highly elitist and meant to make a distinction between cultured and less cultured people instead of engaging all sorts of people throughout all layers in Dutch society.
